When I think of gingham I usually think of spring and summer. Gingham in any color paired with straw accessories and strappy sandals. A classic pattern typically reserved for warmer months. But let’s break that stereotype and carry a favorite pattern into fall and winter as well.
I don’t usually put away all of my summer clothes once fall hits. So, this gingham dress stays hanging with the rest of my clothes. A constant reminder that I haven’t been wearing it much lately. So, I decided to play around with styling it for cooler temps to wear out around San Francisco.
I love how it paired easily with simple black tights, ankle boots, and a heather grey wool coat. It doesn’t get too cold here so I didn’t need extra layers but you could add a turtleneck under a gingham dress or a cardigan for extra warmth!
