Starting out a new year feels like a great time to take a wardrobe inventory. The end of the year was so hectic that I wasn’t focusing much on personal style or my closet in general. But now with a fresh month, I’m feeling inspired to lean in and get in touch with what’s working and what’s not with my clothes. So, a winter capsule wardrobe feels like a great place to start!
To create my winter capsule wardrobe for the month of January, I went through my closet and picked out:
- What I wear most often
- What is most versatile
- Things that are practical for different occasions
For me, the answer to these questions were easy button-ups, simple yet feminine blouses, different cuts and washes of jeans, comfortable shoes, and a fun dress!
This January capsule wardrobe d0esn’t incorporate everything I own. It’s a great starting point with a subset of my closest favorites to then figure out what clothing I might want to add to my wardrobe. It’s also to get a strong sense of what I like wearing every day. Especially now that I work from home and am not going into an office every day so my style has inevitably changed.
If you’re currently exploring a similar journey of personal style, then a winter capsule wardrobe for the month is a great place to start!
